ONE CONCEPT, TWO PATENTS

At INNengine we have patented and developed two disruptive engine concepts: the e-REX and the REX-B.

Both e-REX and REX-B have INNengine patented 1Stroke engine technology. This means they have 4x more power events per revolution than a conventional 4Stroke and twice more than a 2S.

The e-REX comes to replace conventional 4Stroke engines in all current applications and more. It’s state of the art technology lowers consumption&emissions compared to any modern 4Stroke engine while being 4x more powerful and compact. After hundreds of hours of testing and having powered a demo car, our e-REX engine has achieved TRL6 and we are on track of achieving TRL9.

The REX-B is a simplification of the e-REX only in concept but not in quality. Built to satisfy aerospace industry standards, the REX-B will replace 2Stroke engines in those applications where raw power, simplicity, ultracompacity and cost are not just desirable but key.

The REX-B has already achieved TRL8 and we are making a final pre-series with the definitive design.

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

If you could choose your dream ICE for extended range applications, what would that look like?

It would be light and small, to leave extra room for the batteries and motors.
It would have 0 vibration, so it does not interfere with the smooth electric experience.
And since electric vehicles are expensive enough as they are, it would have to be simple and cheap to manufacture.

In other words, the ideal engine for range extender applications would combine the efficiency and low emissions of a state of the art 4 stroke engine with the simplicity, compacity and power of a 2 stroke one.

The e-REX is all that and more: more efficient than a 4 stroke engine while smaller and twice more powerful than a 2 stroke one.

With no crankshaft, no valves, no camshaft or cylinder head, the e-REX is 55% smaller and 70% lighter than any 4stroke ICE.
Nothing but clean efficient power.

NO VIBRATION

And on the subject of unwanted things we removed, we got rid of vibration.

The e-REX’s moving parts do so reciprocally and in equilibrium at all times in all 3 planes, cancelling out one another.

APPLICATIONS

RANGE EXTENDER

We are currently working with the CMT of the University of Valencia to develop the e-REX to satisfy EU7 European emissions standard when they are implemented in 2025. Looking even further we will make the e-REX the perfect green hydrogen engine to achieve true 0 emissions.

Even though EU7 Ready is the midterm goal, there are many applications where we expect to implement the e-REX sooner than that.

AVIATION

It’s size, weight and power compacity as well as lack of vibration make it the perfect engine to power both light/medium aircraft/drones or as an APU in larger aircraft supressing the need of the extra turbine. Especially in an industry where weight & space it’s not just desirable but crucial.

POWER GENERATOR

A whole new generation of portable ultra-efficient, ultra-light generators specifically designed to meet the most demanding requirements in the least accessible locations. Perfect for industry, mining and agrarian applications among other.

MARITIME

After much interest from ship manufacturers, we have decided to implement our e-REX solution not only to provide electricity but also much needed power to the yacht/boat hydraulic systems. On top of the already mention advantages, the e-REX works just as well upside down, protecting against any malfunctions in the event of capsizing.

HYDROGEN

As part of a PHIADI (CDTI) project the e-REX has been identified as the perfect engine for green H2 applications thanks to its power compacity, multifuel capability (variable compression ratio) and leak-proof combustion chamber. Within the scope of named project a prototype of an INNengine will be develop to work on hydrogen to be implemented on a light aircraft.

SMALL BUT MIGHTY​

The REX-B will replace 2Stroke engines in those applications where raw power, simplicity, ultra-compacity and cost are more important than efficiency.

At just 125cc the REX-B air cooled 4 cylinders deliver 21’5hp @ 6000 rpm that is about 80% more power than any other naturally aspirated engine. Yes, almost double the power.

The REX-B can do this thanks to having twice as many power strokes per cylinder than a 2 stroke engine and 4x that of a 4 stroke one.

We like to call it: a 1Stroke engine.

We will also offer a 250cc version of the REX-B as well as injection implementation.

In designing the REX-B and throughout the entire development stage we used the same simulation methods and design optimization employed to develop its bigger brother the e-REX. From the get go we decided we didn’t want to compromise on quality and that we wanted to give you the best product technology can offer.

We will also offer a 250cc version of the REX-B as well as injection implementation.

RC/HOBBY & SPORT

Its power/CC ratio is going to be a game changer in radio control, hobby, karting and any other sport. This will probably be our very first finished product in the market and we expect to begin series production as early as beginning of 2023.

 In fact, as a final test bench for our REX-B125 we employed a RC aircraft and the result was spectacular: have a look.
